2019 Aerial Imagery Now Available

Include the latest aerial imagery in your custom maps or have us extract the images for your own use

SanGIS has taken delivery of ortho-rectified aerial imagery flown in December 2019 to January 2020 covering the entire County of San Diego. This imagery was acquired through a regional effort including SANDAG, City of San Diego, County of San Diego, Water Districts, Reservations, incorporated cities and other interested agencies in the County. The regional effort to acquire this imagery had the advantage of spreading the cost among agencies and providing higher resolution imagery County-wide for project participants. The 9 inch 2019 imagery is in the public domain and use is not restricted by license limitations and is available as a map service from SanGIS Public Rest Services.

The imagery available is at 9 inch resolution across the entire county.

The 2019 imagery can be used in standard and custom maps made here at SanGIS or you can order a print of just the area you need.

The imagery is also available in its raw form for your use. SanGIS has the raw GeoTIFF tiles and compressed GeoTIFF format. Indexes of the GeoTIFF and MrSID files are available in Shape File format from the Regional Data Warehouse under the GRID category. You can order just the tiles you need, or the entire data set, by contacting SanGIS. See our Services page for ordering information or contact us for details.

Note that the aerial imagery data files can be quite large. Also, extracting individual tiles can be more time intensive than copying the entire dataset. For that reason, the full data set is available for a low fixed cost on a portable hard drive. If you’d like to order the full data set just “Entire County” in the "Other" line in the order form.
