About SanGIS

Governance

SanGIS is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of one voting member from the City of San Diego and one from the County of San Diego. The Board approves the annual budget and fiscal audit, sets long range plans and strategic goals, and authorizes major project funding. All initiatives and decisions must be approved by a consensus of both members of the Board before being implemented. The Board meets approximately every other month. Board of Directors meeting minutes can be found under the Documents section.

Day-to-day operational guidance is provided by a Management Committee made up of one voting member each from the City and the County of San Diego and one non-voting member from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG). The Management Committee reviews and approves operational plans, prepares preliminary budgets and develops initiatives for review by the Board. It also monitors revenues and expenses, and provides advice and direction to the SanGIS Executive Director. The Management Committee meeting minutes can be found under the Documents section.

The SanGIS Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations, setting operational priorities, preparing preliminary budgets and reports, reporting financial status, and creating supporting documents for the Board or the Management Committee.
