About SanGIS

Partners

SanGIS is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) of the City of San Diego and the County of San Diego and is responsible to and take direction from those agencies for strategic direction and operational priorities. However, the regional nature of the landbase and other GIS data sets dictates that SanGIS maintain strategic relationships with other agencies located in San Diego County. To that end SanGIS has formed strategic partnerships to support our primary mission objectives and to provide quality GIS data for all interested parties. Two partnerships in particular are of note:

San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG)
Through a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) SanGIS and SANDAG have partnered to provide a single source Regional Data Warehouse (publicly available GIS data covering San Diego County). This partnership provides a common data download site and interactive parcel lookup map from either the SanGIS or SANDAG websites.

SanGIS also works with all 18 cities in the County, 18 Native American Tribes, special interest districts, the State of California and federal agencies including the US Navy and the Marine Corps, to provide the most accurate and current GIS data possible.
